By Katherine Zimmerman, NAMI-UW President (2022-2024)
My sincere thanks to the UW Department of Student Affairs for hosting the 2023 Bucky Awards and the Precollege Enrichment Opportunity Program for Learning Excellence for co-sponsoring the Inclusivity Award.

The NAMI-UW leadership team is extremely grateful and honored to be recognized for our efforts towards fostering learning opportunities, leadership growth, building campus community, and promoting awareness.

Mental health is and continues to be paramount, especially in light of the challenges the world has endured just in these past few years. Therefore, creating a welcoming and inclusive environment, acknowledging and fighting against the social disparities that perpetuate existing inequalities, while also supporting and empowering students is extremely crucial to NAMI-UW's mission. Everyone deserves a community that understands and supports them.

In short, I am incredibly proud of what we've accomplished this year and of my fellow executive team members for finding innovative, meaningful ways to continue our student organization's mission and reaching future goals!
