Humans of The Bandana Project

During the Fall of 2016 we made it our mission to find REAL people who are fighting the stigmas of mental illness on campus here at UW-Madison. They sport a lime green bandana everywhere they go to show their support for those struggling, to educate our community regarding the resources available to us, and most importantly, to save lives. Why do YOU wear a lime green bandana? We would love to share your story in our blog series: Humans of The Bandana Project.
"Everyone is fighting their own  battle, they don't have to do it alone. I want to be there for anyone that needs me and show them that this life is worth fighting for, even in the darkest times."
                                          - Charlie
"I think everything The Bandana
Project stands for is so important -
I feel like I'm making a difference
every day just being a part of it."

                                         - Lindsey
"I personally think it's super important to give people options to approach mental health and seek support. In high school we lost someone to suicide and I want to help people see that suicide is not the only option."
                                      - Olivia

"I've witnessed the effects of depression first hand with one of my best friends. It's something I would never wish upon my worst enemy. I want people to know I am here, we are here, The Bandana Project is here to help."

" I love that The bandana Project is such a good cause and helps fellow students."
